Looking forward to another great week in the English Kindergarten room with my students.  We had a busy and productive second week, the past week.  We are doing an author study on Robert Munsch, and the children really enjoyed the two books we’ve read so far, Alligator Baby and The Sand Castle Contest.

We are learning about patterns in math, so please be on the look out for information on this unit in your child’s backpack tomorrow.

I am working with the students on recognizing their name as well as that of the other children’s names in the class.  They are also working on forming their name using letters that have been mixed up in an envelope.  They are doing a wonderful job decoding!  As well, we worked on proper pencil grip and scissor holds.

The students painted and decorated fish as part of our math unit, so if you are in the school this week, look for their artwork to be displayed in the hallway.

Tomorrow’s homework is finding a picture that represents the letter “Bb.”  Hope you all have a great start to the new week!
